Kane playing this well is the Sabre's dream scenario.....to trade him. Overpaying him on a long term deal would be a tragic mistake. There's just way too many warning signs.
What is it that you can't seem to understand. The only reason Kane is doing so good is because Housley has him on a line with Eichel. Hell Eichel could make my cat score goals. Recall when Foligno played on Eichels line Jack made him look like an allstar. Lets keep things in prospective. If this wasn't a contract year ask yourself if Kane would be playing well. As for him being a team player that can be debunked simply I ask have you ever seen Kane in a photo with any other Sabres player ? I haven't. Kane is the same narcissistic self centered selfish player and person he was in Atlanta and Winnipeg. Get rid of him now while he is at his highest trade value.
Kane's produced away from Eichel and without PP time. It's impressive. The fact that he doesn't fit well with Eichel and doesn't play well on the PP is concerning.
I don't agree that his trade value has never been higher. His trade value has never been higher than going into the trade deadline last year. He had 20+ goals in the 2+ months before the deadline and he had 1 year on his contract.
